I'm Paula and I'm a 39 year old Kentucky native who's blessed enough to create art & memories with wonderful people full time. I'm a minimalist so I was going to keep this nice and short, but I want us to feel like friends, so I want you to know a little of what makes me, me!
I'm a lover of Jesus, adventurous clients (bring me all of the couples who want to try new and different things: a romantic/steamy session in the water, hiking in the mountains; if you love adventure, let's do it!), beautiful light, & Kentucky basketball. Okay, my love for UK might be borderline obsessive. Game day is serious.
Though I enjoy good conversation, I thrive on alone time. I guess you could say I'm an outgoing introvert? I literally do not stop talking during sessions. But when I am home, I love my ME time.
I want to be a wanderer and see all of the breathtaking corners of the world- especially the Northern Lights. My husband is totally on board with this adventure; we're going to make it happen someday. I absolutely love to decorate our home and do DIY projects any chance I get. I'm always fabricating up something new for him to work on so that my ideas can come to life. He and I are parents of two amazing boys; who will be 15 and 20 this year! How is that possible?? Having adult children is a whole new parenting territory. But he’s one of the best adults I know, and he’s in medical school- which means I need to book these sessions y’all haha.
I'm a firm believer that morning should start at noon. (Probably because I'm a night owl who is never in bed during any p.m. hour. I am actually writing this at 5:41 a.m. to be exact.)
I also believe in kindness, real kindness; this world needs more of it. My passion for others led me to attend college for several years as a nursing major. Just as I was accepted into the nursing program, I had a dangerous pregnancy and was put on bedrest; during that time I picked up a camera and there was no looking back!
I would love to tell you that my photography style is “xyz”, and give you a straight forward answer. But I am learning…that I am always learning. I am always growing and evolving. One thing that will remain the same is my love for timeless, true to color, images. Images that will still look just as lovely when they are seen 50 years from now. I love a posed portrait and will guide you through your entire session, but moments with real smiles, tears, and laughter have my heart. I love to catch emotion and I often help you evoke it. I push myself each session to see what exciting and new things I can create. I give my all every time I pick up my camera, but capturing love makes my heart beat the hardest. This is my heART.
As for you and I….Let’s be real, NOBODY wants a stuffy photographer making this thing awkward the whole time. I want us both to feel like we have been friends practically our whole adult lives. Because bottom line…we are all humans just hanging out for the day and making memories. So let’s get together, let the expectations go and talk about real life stuff, (if you have kiddos, we will let them burn some energy and have fun. I must warn you though, I play a mean red light-green light; so you tell them to go ahead and practice right now.) So visit that contact tab and let’s hang out because I want you to look at your images and have the euphoria you felt on session day to come rushing right back. You’ve got a story to tell, so let’s tell it!
